University of Central Florida Provost’s Office Renovation
Orlando, Florida
- Associated Architect: Long & Associates
As the University of Central Florida begins planning for a beautiful new downtown Orlando campus, the administration begins to embrace “staff supportive work environments”. Driven by the realization that collaboration, transparency, and exposure to views and natural light can determine staff happiness, satisfaction and retention the provost used the renovation of his office space (inside the venerable MIllican Hall) as a test case for shifting their office paradigm.
All staff workstations have low partitions supporting the transmission of natural light to all. The conference space is glass on 3 walls with wonderful campus views and we planned small areas with lounge or movable furniture, providing movement to different work modes and to encourage collaboration throughout the day.
