Orlando/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau
Orlando, Florida
- 9,000 sq. ft.
- Associated Architect: Rhodes + Brito Architects
For Ramski & Company, the highlight of the Orange County continuing services architectural/ engineering agreement with Rhodes + Brito Architects, was interior design and furniture specification for the joint office space of the Orange County Convention Center marketing group and the Orlando Visitors Bureau. The team’s Orange County continuing service was awarded two consecutive terms, 2006 – 2013 and culminated in this effort to create a 9,000 sq. ft. space to accommodate these important headquarters. Each entity has a separate and distinct visitors lobby and conference space but the office/work areas connect to take advantage of shared natural light, common storage and restrooms.
Though the building’s exposed structure created some initial challenges, the awkward elements were seamlessly incorporated into the interior architecture. Large exterior glazing panels, Steelcase open office systems and frosted interior glazing allowed the proliferation of natural light even in the most interior of the spaces. The shared finish palette with distinct accent colors allow for connection between groups in the “common areas” while creating unique brands for each group in the separate and distinct public spaces.
