The Winter Park Ninth Grade Center for Orange County Public Schools, Florida, consists of the construction of 80,000 square feet of new educational space and 75,000 square feet of renovated educational space. The 1927 Mediterranean Admin Building, eligible for the historic register, the 1060’s two story classroom building, and the historic Gymnasium were all upgraded to meet current codes and OCPS standards. Three other older buildings were demolished and replaced with the new 80,000 sq. ft. classroom building that fronts Pennsylvania and creates a new school entry on the West. A beautiful new courtyard gathering space was created on the east side between the new media center and the new cafeteria and protected by the second-floor overhang.
