Ramski & Company performed the interior design for the new Ronald MacDonald House, Nemours at Lake Nona in concert with Schenkel Shultz Architecture and DPR Construction. Orlando is only one of 6 cities in the nation with 3 Ronald McDonald House locations. The house’s hope is to provide a home away from home for up to 39 families at completion. This first phase provides 15 guest rooms with infrastructure for the future 3rd-floor buildout and a Phase 2 building extending the guest room corridors at the west end of the site.
For Ramski & Company, this is the third Ronald McDonald House project assist in Orlando. The Lake Nona Nemours facility represents two years of community service to this special organization and has provided a great deal of satisfaction as the house has surpassed expectations. The new guest rooms have successfully employed lessons learned to create beautiful, easy to maintain guest environments featuring a special donor art program to make each guest space unique and special.
Our job as project interior designers was to create a beautiful, durable interior for public spaces and guest suites, and encourage participation and donation from the community, and orchestrate a coordinated project. We were able to specify quality and in most cases obtain special price reductions, with both in-kind and product donations to ensure budgets could be met and quality would be maintained throughout the bidding and building process.
