The design and construction of this 102,500 sq. ft. 2 level elementary school is highly celebrated as it is the first new elementary facility built by Alachua County in approximately 15 years. The campus is designed with Administration, Media Center, and Dining/Multipurpose spaces at the front of the school for easy after hours community access.
A Green Globe Level 3 sustainable model was chosen by the team and Ramski & Company integrated with the architectural partners in schematic design to adapt a prototype. A high degree of importance was placed on selection of appropriate materials to satisfy sustainable goals and meet the school system’s stringent requirements for longevity and low maintenance.
Ramski & Company worked with the school’s administration and purchasing department to specify approximately $695,000 of furniture on state contract. The studio produced custom work focusing on the Media Center developing a “pond” theme with circulation desk, and shelving and whimsical furnishings developed to support the theme.
